Statement Against Ramesh Jarkiholi

The woman that was allegedly featured in the sex tape filed a written complaint against Jarkiholi via her advocate Kumar. The complaint was a two-page letter that was submitted at the Bengaluru Police Commissioners office. The woman also released images of the letter she wrote to the public. The FIR was registered under IPC section 376C, section 354A, section 504, section 506, and section 417. It was also registered under the IT Act section 67A.

The woman stated in her letter that “This complaint is raised against former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi who enticed me to speak in vulgar language and expose myself on video, on the pretext of securing a government job, and later had sexual relations with me.”

In February, a complaint against Jarkiholi was filed through social activist Dinesh Kalahalli. The complaint was withdrawn within a few days. In response to the complaint filed by the woman, the Karnataka government constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to look into the matter. The Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai stated that the SIT would look into the case. Bommai also promised the woman and her family police protection.
