45-year-old Jharkhand woman found in septic tank. The local police have held three accused including the woman's husband after recovering the body on June 28 in an almost decomposed state. However, the police are yet to get a hold of the prime accused.
The victim was reported missing a few days before she was found dead in an under-construction lavatory in a hotel in Dhanbad city, Jharkhand. The body was recovered on Monday in an almost decomposed state, according to a report. She was identified with the help of her outfit as her condition made it difficult to recognise her.
The deceased's brother Mahesh Kumar filed the missing complaint and according to the same, his sister and her husband were lured by a Rs 12 crore scheme in the fake network marketing and were invited for signing an agreement. Reportedly, he is a part of the investigation as well.
The police revealed that the woman was involved in a fake network marketing racket which was run by hotel owner Anand Mahto, and was promised a total sum of Rs 12 crore. As a part of the same, the deceased paid Rs 60,000 to Mahato already, Deputy Superintendent of Police Amar Kumar Pandey said.
It was also reported that the woman, along with her husband, went to the hotel to sign an agreement and engaged in a fight with the racketeers.

Pandey added that Mahto has absconded ever since the alleged murder of the woman. Apart from him, hotel cook Rajesh Napit, accounts manager Chhotu Mahto and the victim's husband were arrested by the police.
Although it is yet to be found out how many people are involved in this murder, the police have started to investigate the motive behind the woman's death. Her body was sent for a postmortem examination.
