Cristina Vita Aranda, model and wife of top footballer Ivan Torres, was reportedly shot dead during a concert in Asuncion, Paraguay over the weekend. Aranda was attending the event from a VIP area when a gunfight ensued leaving five people, including her, injured. She was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.
As per reports, Torres was also attending the Ja’umina Fest concert, along with a thousands-strong crowd, but escaped unharmed. He helped get his wife to hospital after a bullet shot through her head. Doctors said she was in a "serious condition and intubated" after she was brought in.
According to ABC, one other fatality besides Aranda was confirmed. The concert was immediately suspended following the shooting at the amphitheater and the matter is being investigated by authorities in Paraguay.

Aranda's social media profile indicates she was a personal trainer and fitness enthusiast. As an influencer, she had over four lakh followers on Instagram where she gave fans a glimpse into her lifestyle, travels and family time.
Final updates on her Instagram stories were made not long before she attended the concert. The posts showed her thanking fans for increasing her reach on social media as well as a clip of travelling by car.

Torres, who plays in the midfielder position for Club Olimpia, and Aranda were parents to three children. Certain reports indicate the two had been planning on divorce in the period prior to the fatal incident that claimed her life.
Following news of the split, he wrote on Instagram, as quoted in reports, "I have always been a very sincere person and today I feel very sad and in a lot of pain, but despite that I’m here today to give my best and fight always."
