Thirush Kamini opened India's innings with her career-best 113 not out with 11 fours and four sixes. She was ably supported by Deepti Sharma (89) with her second half-century of the tournament, and together, they pushed India to the victory road. It was a hard-fought 250 for two but figured in a 174-run opening target for the Irish.

The left-handed pair together carried their strong game till 40 overs and that was India’s first opening century-stand in ODIs in close to four years. The Irish were no match for the Indian women, who have been in the best of forms lately. Unable to survive the Indian batting and bowling attack, Ireland women lost very easily.

Kamini said in an ICC release: "Getting a hundred for India is always special. It was really satisfying to get runs today when the team required a good opening partnership. The ball was not coming on to the bat later in the innings, so getting runs was not easy. I'd gone into the match aiming to get runs at a fair pace and succeeded in that."

Captain Mithali Raj did not take the game lightly, and that showed when Ireland, which had lost to Sri Lanka earlier in the league, struggled to manage a score of 125 off 49.1 overs only. From their team, leg-spinner Poonam Yadav was the most successful bowler who took three for 30.
