In A First, Forbes Releases List of Beauty Influencers

Social media stardom is now a full-time career choice. Forbes has released its first-ever list of the world’s top-10 beauty influencers. The list comprises beauty bloggers, Instagrammers and social media doyennes whose followers are in millions, and who make millions of dollars.

Social media stardom is now a full-time career choice. Forbes has released its first-ever list of the world’s top-10 beauty influencers. The list comprises beauty bloggers, Instagrammers and social media doyennes whose followers are in millions, and who make millions of dollars.

Zoella Suggs, a British YouTuber who has over 11 million followers, is at the number one spot. She began vlogging from her bedroom in 2009 and has written three books. She has also launched her own line of cosmetics called ‘Zoella Beauty’.

Michelle Phan is at number 2. She is a Youtube star whose channel has over 8 million subscribers. She has launched a new cosmetic line in collaboration with L’Oreal.

At spot number 3 is Dubai-based Instagram star Huda Kattan. She has 18 million followers on Instagram and a makeup line which is a bestseller in the Middle-East.

The watch time for videos on fashion and beauty has grown 138 per cent compared to the watch time for comedy which grew 100 per cent, says Satya Raghavan, head of entertainment at YouTube.

Sherry Shroff is a popular fashion and beauty blogger with over 129,000 followers on Instagram. She has collaborated with comedians like Kanan Gill, Mallika Dua and also with other fashion bloggers from around the world.

Debasree Banerjee started her YouTube channel in 2013, after quitting her job. Her blog is called All She Needs and she writes about makeup trends, product reviews etc. Her videos are very original, ranging from snapchat filter makeup to DIY glitter lips.

Komal Narang's blog is called My Happinesz and her first video was about a list of 10 things people should do to become happy. She started the blog after her parents got divorced.

Shruti Arjun Anand started a channel while waiting to get a US work visa in 2011. She moved back to India to concentrate on her channel full time. She has 61.5k followers on Instagram.
