How To Register For The CoWIN COVID-19 Vaccination

Registration for the CoWIN COVID-19 vaccination has begun and here is how citizens above the age of 60 years and people over 45 years of age with comorbidities can register for the vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccine registration: The Indian government has begun another phase of COVID-19 vaccination.

Senior citizens above the age of 60 years and people over 45 years of age with comorbidities can register to get the CoWIN COVID-19 vaccination. The websites of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Health Authority have uploaded a user guide to help citizens register and book their appointment for the vaccination.

Guide For Registering For CoWIN COVID-19 Vaccination

  1. Citizens can register through the CoWIN website or through the Aarogya Setu app, which has CoWIN app intergration.
  2. The registrations began from March 1, 2021 and will be open from 9 AM till 3 PM every day.
  3. If using the CoWIN website, enter your mobile number, click on “Get OTP” button and enter the one time password (OTP) and click “Verify”.
  4. If using the Aarogya Setu app, go to the CoWIN tab, click on the vaccination tab and then click “Proceed”.
  5. A registration page will appear. User will need to enter a photo identification type, phone number, full name, gender, and age.
  6. If user is registering for a senior citizen then you can proceed and click “Register”. If the person being registered has comorbidities, then user has to click on yes when it asks “Do you have any comorbidities (pre-existing medical conditions)?”
  7. People between the ages of 45 and 60 will need to carry a medical certificate when they appear for the appointment.
  8. Once registration is complete, a confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number.
  9. After the registration process, the system will display the account details. Four other people can be linked to the registered mobile number if user clicks on the “Add button” and enters the details of other individuals.
  10. In front of the registered names, there will be a column named “Action”, below the column there is a calendar icon. Users need to click on the icon to schedule an appointment.
  11. The user will be taken to “Book Appointment for Vaccination” page. Details about State/UT, District, Block, and Pincode have to be entered. Once entered click on the “Search” button.
  12. A list of vaccination centres based on user’s location will appear. The vaccination dates available at the centres will also be visible once you select a centre. According to the slots and dates available, the user can select their preference and click on “Book”.
  13. “Appointment Confirmation” page will appear and display the details of the booking. User can click on “Confirm” or click on “Back” if changes need to be made.
  14. “Appointment Successful” page will appear and show the details of the booking.
  15. In case the appointment needs to be rescheduled, user can make changes by clicking on the edit icon below the “Action” column.
