Hima Das Signs Multi-Crore Deal With Sports Management Firm IOS

Champion Sprinter Hima Das has signed a multi-crore two-year deal with Sports Management firm IOS Sports & Entertainment. The company revealed in an official statement on Thursday (09th August).

With this India’s sprint sensation has joined boxing superstars MC Mary Kom and Vijender Singh and Commonwealth Games gold medalists Manika Batra and Mirabai Chanu in signing up with Infinity Optimal Solutions (IOS). IOS Sports & Entertainment is country’s leading sports management group. So far, the company has not revealed the exact monetary details of the deal.

Recently, the star sprinter scripted history. In a landmark event for the Indian track events, the 18-year-old Hima won the gold medal in the women's 400-meter event at the IAAF World U-20 Championships held in Tampere, Finland. She clocked this victory in 51.46 seconds in the finals at the Ratina Stadium. Das is the first Indian to win gold in a world championship across all age groups.

Commenting on her association with IOS, Hima said, "I am fortunate to be on board with one of India's top sports management group. I was looking for a professional sports management group to manage my commercial interests, as I only want to focus on my training and championships."

Welcoming Hima Das, Neerav Tomar, MD & CEO, IOS Sports & Entertainment  said, “I am delighted about our latest signing.”

Further he added, “Hima has tremendous potential and we would work towards building her image and looking after her commercial interests. We already have a lot of interest coming in from brands and I am sure with the Asian Games around the corner, there would be more buzz around her.”

The 18-year-old started her career in 2012 and performed well at district level competitions. Without any training and guidance, she made it to the finals of Junior Athletics Championship in Coimbatore.
