Hidden Phone Camera Found In Women’s Restroom in Noida

A woman customer allegedly found out a hidden mobile phone which was recording videos inside the Women's restroom of an electronics showroom at Sector 18 in Noida. A staffer from the store has been accused of installing that camera in the store’s loo.

Noida police came to know about this case after the husband of the woman approached them and filed a complaint. Now they have formed teams to find the accused who is absconding since the case came to light, said the police.

They wrote in the FIR that the complainant and his wife had gone shopping to Vijay Sales. “During the course of shopping, my wife went to use the restroom. When she returned, she alleged that she has found a mobile phone which was hidden and it was in the recording mode,” it said.

When the husband and wife told the manager about the issue, he requested them not to complain about it with the police. But they went ahead and called the PCR call and the police team rushed to the spot. Based on the complaint, the police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal code.

Changing clothes or going to the loo in public places has always been a reason of great worry for women in India. It is a psycho crime to peak into women’s restrooms, in their private time. The authorities must take such issues seriously and come up with stricter laws to curb it.
