The officials have assured that her injuries are not serious and she is safe and undergoing treatment.

Gajanan Hire, of Thane Forest Division said that the claw marks indicated that the attack was "carried out by a sub-adult leopard."

The incident occurred at Visava close to Aarey Dairy which borders on the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and is reported to be the fourth event in the area. Two days earlier the animal reportedly attempted to carry away a child reported TOI. The boy was playing outside his home in the Unit-3 area of Aarey.

After the repeated incidences the forest officials and conservationists have set up camera traps. And working proactively to avoid man-animal conflict in the forest. The Aarey area falls under the eco sensitive zone.

Aarey Milk Colony is spread across 3,166 acres. In 1950s and 60s parts of it were handed over to central government bodies such as the National Dairy Development Board, Central Poultry Farm and Reserve Bank of India. It is a tribal settlement area. With forests receding the attacks by the predators have become more rampant.
