We have entered into an era where soon after a child is born, parents start planning for his or her education, career and what not. Moving ahead in life, the child is then burdened with loads of expectations and the school curriculum too, undoubtedly, has become hectic. The story doesn’t end here and as the child gains a position to take his/her own decisions, then comes a wave of ‘what are you going to pursue in your career?’. In short, gone is the time when children used to play in a garden after school. Today, it’s too much homework and studies and just a little or no amount of play time.
The situation is no different for celebrity kids. Recently, while interacting with the media at Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2019, Indian actress Kajol too came across such questions with respect to her daughter Nysa Devgan. She was asked about Nysa’s Bollywood debut to which she responded strongly, by saying that media and other people should give Nysa a break and some space for now.
Talking about Nysa’s career plans, Kajol said, "She has recently celebrated her 16th birthday and is currently preparing for her boards. I think you (media and other people) show give her a break and some space right now.” Star couple Kajol and Ajay, often speak up about how the celebrity kids have to suffer a lot due their parents’ star status. And this is so much applicable here. Why do we expect children to follow their parents’ profession, especially when it comes to Bollywood. Asking about her Bollywood debut, the media person himself assumed that Nysa is going to pursue a career in Bollywood.

Even during the promotion of his movie Total Dhamaal, Ajay told media agency how he understood that being stars in Bollywood, they’ll be scrutinised at some point. But he finds it inappropriate when kids have to deal with the same level of judgement.
Talking about the award, Kajol said she was grateful to the jury. Last time she was seen onscreen in ‘Helicopter Eela’ and the movie didn’t do well at the box office. Kajol, with her niece Pranutam Bahl posed happily for the shutterbugs at the Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award.
