A 4-year-old girl was seriously injured when a kite string (banned Chinese manja) slit her throat while she was travelling with her father on a bike.
As per reports, the incident took place when Vinay Kumar and his daughter were travelling from Vanasthalipuram to Uppal via bike. When they reached Nagole flyover, a manja cord dangling from an electric pole got entangled on the girl's neck and caused a deep cut.
The girl's father also suffered injuries as he lost control of the bike and fell to the ground.
Commuters immediately rushed the father and daughter to a nearby hospital.

Girl's Throat Slit By Kite String
The Hyderabad police have banned kite-flying on all thoroughfares and near places of worship. The orders, issued by the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, CV Anand will be in effect from January 14 to 16.
In the order, the Commissioner of Police said, "Children should be made aware of the vulnerabilities with regards to electrocution if they try to collect stray kites from electric poles or cables."
The Mumbai police also took the step to ban 'manja' kite strings from January 12 to February 10.
The use of manja kite strings has been a longstanding concern for the safety of both humans and animals. The strings are often coated with powdered glass and can cause serious injuries to humans or animals.

On Thursday, January 12, a 37-year-old man Vipul Thakkar was killed after a dangling kite string slit his throat in the Kheda district in Gujarat.
Thakkar was on his way to meet his friend in Nadiad when the incident took place near Sardar Nagar area.
The Kheda police confiscated close to 500 rolls of the prohibited kite strings since the incident in the district-wide crackdown on the sale and use of glass-coated kite strings.
In another incident, a motorcycle rider sustained 14 stitches on his face after being entangled with glass-coated kite strings.
In August 2022, a biker passed away after his throat was slit by a glass-coated kite string in Delhi.
