Forbes has released its latest ranking of the richest people on the planet, and three new female Indian billionaires have been included in the list.

Forbes published its annual billionaire lists for 2023 on 4 April, featuring the wealthiest individuals in the world, as well as the youngest among them.

Forbes has released its latest ranking of the richest people on the planet, showing an increase in the number of women billionaires from 327 in 2022 to 337 in 2023. In India, 16 new individuals joined the billionaire list, including three women, namely Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry, and Saroj Rani Gupta.

Three Female Indian Billionaires On Forbes List

Saroj Rani Gupta​

According to Forbes, Saroj Rani Gupta, who is 72 years old, has a net worth of 1.2 billion dollars (81 billion rupees) and is a self-made billionaire. She is the co-founder of APL Apollo Tubes, which came into being in 1986, along with her late husband SK Gupta. Additionally, her son, Sanjay Gupta, holds the position of Managing Director at APL Apollo Tubes.

​Rekha Jhunjhunwala

Rekha Jhunjhunwala has attained the highest position among Indian participants on the 2023 M3M Hurun Global Rich List. Rekha Jhunjhunwala inherited both wealth and a stock portfolio from her late husband Rakesh Jhunjhunwala after his passing in August 2022 at the age of 62

Jhunjhunwala reportedly earns a substantial amount of approximately 650 crore rupees per month. Her net worth is estimated to be over 25,655 crore rupees as of March 22, 2023. She holds 29 publicly traded stocks and some of the top shares in her portfolio include Titan, Metro Brands, Star Health, and Allied Insurance Company. Her fortune was inherited from her late husband.

Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry

Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry is the wife of the deceased Cyrus Mistry, who was the younger son of Pallonji Mistry, a prominent figure in the construction industry, who passed away in June of 2022.

Following her husband's death in a car accident in September 2022, she inherited his stake in the family business, just a few weeks after the passing of his father.

Mistry has established herself as a prominent figure in the corporate world, having held directorship positions at various private and public limited companies.

The primary holding of the family is its 18.4 percent stake in Tata Sons, which is the parent company of the Tata Group conglomerate.
