She has begun working with the in-flight management team and is involved in voice and accent training activities for Jet.

At present, she is working only three-four hours a day. “Sitting at home could be depressing sometimes. I enjoy working and it feels good to be back,” she said.

Not completely healed

Her injuries have not healed fully. She has to wear silicon-based gloves till May 2018 to level the skin around the hand, which underwent grafting for burns. Her heel bone is hollow and a few of her metatarsal bones are missing.

She has also signed for a book with Manjul Publishing and will share her journey of grit and presence of mind. She wants her experiences to be known to all as she believes we must celebrate our ability as humans to rise from the ashes.

She is determined to fly again.

“The positivity within me is working. I have to go through a few more surgeries. I don’t have a heel bone in my right leg. But I walk putting pressure on my toes. I also do physiotherapy. The bones have started growing,” she tells SheThePeople.TV

Flying is her passion. “I would make every person happy. Sharing happiness is my dream. I remember every flight of mine,” she says.

“We cannot erase what has happened. We cannot say that we won’t move on. Moving on doesn’t mean that it has to be dark. As victims, we have gone through so much, and we can enlighten others’ lives. I am putting all my efforts to generate love.”
