Popstar Demi Lovato has opened up about her drug overdose that led to a series of unwanted events in her life. Demi Lovato opened up about these events to The People in an interview saying, "I was left with brain damage, and I still deal with the effects of that today. I don't drive a car, because I have blind spots on my vision." She further added, "And I also for a long time had a really hard time reading. It was a big deal when I was able to read out of a book, which was like two months later because my vision was so blurry." Lovato said, "Anytime you suppress a part of yourself, it's going to overflow."

Demi Lovato's family including her sister, mother, and step-father are seen in multiple interviews talking about the horrific moments they experienced when Lovato was on the edge of the breath-taking events.

Lovato also mentioned that the drug abuse and its following events made her face the past traumas and adverse events faced by her while working in the industry. Further, she spoke about the 'breaking point' and how she battled through all odds.

Despite Lovato facing these problems, she says that she wouldn't change a thing. Lovato further said that she has learned a lot from these events. She is also proud of how she turned up. Lovato said, "I'm so proud of the person I am today." And she further added, "Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned."

As long she says the truth, her work will keep resonating with the audience, Lovato mentioned while talking about why she chose to open up about her overdose.

The documentary Demi Lovato : Dancing with the Devil is directed by director Michael D. Ratner premiered on Youtube Originals on Wednesday, 17. While concluding her experience Lovato says, "And that's my purpose. I'm an artist that cares a lot about her community — and my community is the entire planet — so I just I'm always striving to help. I think that my work is going to only benefit now that I've learned so much about myself."
