Cricketer Kinchit Shah's Proposal Went Viral, After Asia Cup Clash With India

Hong Kong player Kinchit Shah made the Asia Cup clash against India most memorable for himself, as he won the love of his life at the Dubai International Stadium.

The all-rounder proposed to his girlfriend in full public view at the stadium on 31 August. 

Kinchit Shah may not have scored big and helped his team over the line against India during their Group A Asia Cup 2022 fixture, but the 26-year-old made the most out of it. After the match, Shah proposed his girlfriend at the stand. He went down on one knee, holding a ring to propose his girlfriend.

She accepted the proposal, as the viral video depicts. In the video, amid cheers from the crowd in the whole stadium, she said, "I can't imagine. Yes, of course!". The couple hugged each other while Ed Sheeran’s I Found A Girl For Me was played in the background. Asian Cricket Council posted a video on social media.

“She said YES! A heartwarming moment where Hong Kong's @shah_kinchit95 proposed to his SO after playing a big match against India. A huge congratulations to the happy couple. We wish you all the joy and happiness in your new life together."

Shah batted on number 4, chasing 193 runs. He played 28 balls for his 30 and scored two fours and a six. In the 18th over Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him. India's Ravi Bishnoi took a catch to end his stay. 

With this win, India qualified for the Super Four. Hong Kong will go against Pakistan in the final game in the group, and the winner will advance into the Super Four. Hong Kong faces Pakistan on 2 September, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Shah’s proposal was similar to Indian pacer Deepak Chahar's. Chahar proposed his love at the same venue while playing for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, last season.
