Couple Uses Lottery Money For IVF
A couple welcomed their second daughter after they used a lottery win of 30,000 pound (30 lakh rupees) to pay for In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF). Rather than using the money to buy luxury items or new assets, the couple used it for the costly procedure as they had fertility issues.

While Ellie and Cameron hoped for a second child, they were worried about the high cost of paying for several rounds of IVF.

However, when they won a lottery of 30,000 pounds in August 2021, they decided to get the IVF treatment to have a second child.

Reportedly, the Hintons won 30,000 pounds out of a total prize of 360,000 pounds which was shared between them and their neighbours. Their street was drawn in the People's Postcode Lottery.

By March 2022, the couple learned that the second IVF treatment was successful and welcomed their second daughter, Matilda in November 2022.

Ellie Hinton said that she realised how lucky the couple was that the IVF worked out in the end. She added, "I have so much respect and sympathy for those going through infertility, it's not easy."

She spoke about how the couple didn't plan on expanding their family as it meant starting IVF and said they were happy with their two baby girls.

Hinton spoke about how due to their jobs as a midwife and an obstetrician, it seemed "unimaginable" that they wouldn't be parents. She also joked that Hattie wasn't initially happy about having to share her mother, but as time passed she has gotten used to not being an only child.
