College students in Chennai got into a fistfight after their argument turned ugly; the incident happened at a bus stop on Tuesday, April 26. A video of the incident is now making rounds on the internet. It is yet to be ascertained what sparked the argument.
The two women were at a bus stop near their college in Chennai's New Washermenpet area which escalated into a fistfight between two groups of students. Students from either group were injured because of the fight. The women were brutally assaulting each other making it difficult for the public to intervene and solve the fight between the two groups.
Chennai College Students Spat
Patrolling police had to be involved in the matter and then diffused the fight between the sparring groups. The police warned all the women involved to not get into a fight again and let them go.
A video showcasing visuals of this incident is now making rounds on the internet. Women of the two groups can be seen continually fighting at a bus stop, kicking and grabbing each other's hair, as the onlookers try to help them, causing a nuisance in public. Some bystanders were also seen laughing at this incident as if the brawl was an amusing scene and derived entertainment from the ugly spat.
Last year in July, a video showcasing a similar incident went viral. The video showcased three young women getting involved in an aggressive fight on the street. The video showed the girls charging at each other and kicking each other.
Two women continued to fight each other even as one of them left; they continued kicking and punching and pulling each other's hair. Spectators standing at the end of the lane watching the fight from a distance, making no efforts to intervene and end the fight.
Incidents and viral videos like these showcase where we stand as a society. Gaining entertainment in violence, making videos of such scenes instead of helping to put off fights and brawls, gaining views at other people's expense.
