Today nations across the globe are celebrating the 9th International Yoga Day with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is leading the celebrations at the United Nations (UN) headquarters with representatives from over 180 countries. The event with the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ translating to One Earth One Family One Future, is likely to be participated by 250 million people across the world.

Every year, Yoga Day features a distinct theme that emphasises various facets of yoga and its advantages. Whether concentrating on physical fitness, mental well-being, or the spiritual aspects of yoga, the annual themes inspire a sense of discovery and purpose in the participants. These themes serve as a beacon, inspiring people to learn more about the many facets of yoga and apply its lessons to their everyday lives.

The focus of Yoga Day in 2023 will be "Yoga for Wellness," highlighting the transforming nature of yoga in fostering all-around well-being. This subject, which emphasises the therapeutic benefits of yoga for people of all ages and backgrounds, is incredibly important as the globe continues to deal with the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. It encourages people to incorporate yoga into their daily life, emphasising the benefits of the practise for the body, mind, and soul.

International Yoga Day has been widely recognised and celebrated thanks in large part to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His attempts to promote yoga as a comprehensive discipline have attracted a great deal of interest and support, not just in India but all across the world. From actors to army squads, everyone contributed to celebrate yoga day. It was exciting to Canine member of the dog unit of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) along with ITBP personnel performing Yoga in Udhampur, Jammu, And Kashmir.

International Yoga Day is embraced by world leaders as a chance to advance wellness, mindfulness, and cross-cultural communication. They lead large yoga sessions and take part in yoga demonstrations in their own nations to show forth their dedication to the discipline. This widespread celebration demonstrates yoga's ability to cross national boundaries and promote intercultural harmony. Prominent figures including President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden participated in yoga classes to emphasise the value of mindfulness and self-care. Leaders from all around Europe, such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, organised large-scale yoga events and invited people to experience the peace and transforming power of yoga.

Additionally, throughout Asia, influential figures like South Korean President Moon Jae-in and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern advocated yoga's advantages for both physical and mental health. These world leaders understood yoga's capacity to cross cultural barriers and bring people together in search of wellness and inner peace. 

Defence Minister  Rajnath Singh too performed yoga and said, "Today, International Yoga Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm not only in India but all over the world. It is a matter of pride for all of us as yoga is being celebrated globally and the world is acknowledging India's rich culture and adopting it."

Actors like Shilpa Shetty to Alia Bhatt practiced their best yoga poses and shared pictures too.
