She was reportedly woken up on October 4 by the sound of the crash with debris on her face when she saw a rock sitting on her pillow.

Speaking to the local news, Hamilton said, "I just jumped up and turned on the light, I couldn't figure out what the heck had happened." She claimed that she avoided death just by an inch. After seeing the rock on her pillow, she called the emergency helpline. The incident took place just a few kilometers away from Lake Louise, a tourist spot where people were seen enjoying meteorites crashing down the sky like a fireball.

After Hamilton's call to emergency services, a police officer arrived at her house and investigated the matter. The officer tried to figure out the reason why the rock landed on her bed. As per reports, the officer did not find any evidence to support the claim that the rock came from a nearby construction site of canyon project. The police officer said that the only possible explanation would be that the rock somehow ended up on Hamilton's roof and then crashed through it.

Hamilton said, "I was shaking and scared when it happened, I thought someone had jumped in or it was a gun or something. It's almost a relief when we realized it could only have fallen out of the sky." She said that she was sitting on her bed staring at the rock in shock for several hours.

"The odds of that happening are so small so I'm pretty grateful to be alive." She told the news organisation that she is going to keep the rock as memorabilia for her grandchildren to see. She said that the incident gave her a fresh perspective on life and made her not take it for granted again.

The insurance company will see if the damage to her home can be covered, she said, adding the company has never faced any claim like this before.
