Is BJP's Sonali Guha rejoining TMC? In a public appeal to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday, Guha expressed a wish to return to her former party. In March 2o21, Guha, Trinamool Congress (TMC) deputy speaker of assembly, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the state elections after she was snubbed on Banerjee's candidate list, along with a host of other senior leaders.

The way a fish cannot stay out of the water, I will not be able to live without you, Didi. I seek your forgiveness and if you don't forgive me, I won't be able to live. Please allow me to come back."

Buzz Of Sonali Guha Rejoining TMC After Public Apology
Guha was a four-time TMC MLA from Satgachia South 24 Parganas and a close aide of Banerjee. Ahead of the high-stakes 2021 election, that pitted TMC against BJP might, Guha was nowhere to be featured on Banerjee's 291-strong candidate list. Other TMC veterans like Rabindranath Bhattacharya and Rafikur Rahaman were also dropped, replaced by newer faces. More here.
"If Mamata didi can leave me so why can't I?" Guha had stated alongside claims of leaving TMC. BJP didn't give her a ticket, but Guha had said she would contribute towards strengthening the party.
On May 2, the saffron party lost to TMC and Banerjee returned to her CM seat for a historic second term. Look back at the Bengal election here. "I always felt unwanted there. They tried to use me and asked me to badmouth Mamata-di. I could not do that," Guha has been quoted saying by NDTV now.
