An artist in Punjab painted posters of the US political leaders to appreciate them. He intends to gift the portrait to Biden and Harris while they take their oath on January 20, 2021.
Jagjot Singh Rubal is a famous painter from Punjab and he wishes to display his work in the White House. He took 20 days to complete the portrait made of acrylic colours on the surface of a joint canvas. Speaking with ANI, Rubal said, "I want to gift these to them as they will be taking oath tomorrow. It's a matter of great pride to see Kamala Harris becoming Vice President." Have a look at the portrait here:
He further added, “it is a proud moment for India since Kamala Harris, whose mother was from Tamil Nadu, is set to be sworn-in as the Vice President of the United States on Wednesday.” Thulasendrapuram in Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu is the ancestral home of Kamala Harris. Shyamala Gopalan and her family used to stay in the village.

For his work, Rubal received letter of appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier residents of her native village Thulasendrapuram had made a rangoli or kolam to show their support to Kamala Harris in the US Presidential election, 2020. As per reports, the residents said that, “We believe that after winning US Elections 2020, she’ll come & meet us."
The inauguration ceremony of US President-Elect and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the US Capitol in Washington. The ceremony has been titled as “Celebrating America” and will witness the presence of Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Jon Bon Jovi who will be performing at the event. Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the first woman Vice President-Elect of US. She will also be the first Black woman and the first South Asian woman to take over the post. On Monday, January 17, 2021, Harris resigned from her previous US Senate seat. California Governor Gavin Newsom selected Alex Padilla as California’s next United States Senator.
