Putting a new spin on the WAP challenge trending on social media, comedian Lilly Singh spoofed United States Senator and Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris doing a "Bhangra version" of the same in her recent Instagram video.
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single WAP is the inspiration behind The WAP challenge. Basically a dance routine that includes twerking, kicks, and splits, the challenge has caught fancy of many social media users.

Kamala Harris has mostly worn pant-suits at all her official engagements so far. The video also shows Singh sporting Harris’ signature pant- suit look in grey colour. Additionally, she styled her hair to imitate the senator’s wavy hairstyle. In her caption, Lilly Singh informed fans that she shot the hilarious video during her lunch breaks while shooting her newest venture, The Sketchy Times. She also tagged Cardi B in her post.

As soon as Singh posted the video, fans flooded her comment section with remarks on the comedian’s jaw-dropping resemblance with Senator Harris. Mistaking Singh for the latter, one user wrote, “I WAS SCROLLIJG THROUGH MY FEED AND I LEGITIMATELY THOUGHT THIS WAS KAMALA (sic). Another fan commented, “You make a freakishly good Kamala Harris (sic).”
Singh’s styled hair caught many users off guard. One fan commented, “Before I realised it was a wig I had a mini heart attack.” As of now, the video has garnered over 732,918 views and around 1764 comments.

Lilly Singh has been shooting for her new primetime sketch comedy show titled, Sketchy Times With Lilly Singh at her home. The new show will feature the Indian-Canadian host performing multiple sketches and portraying different characters as they cope with the ‘new normal’ amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Reportedly the show will have a primetime slot on NBC.
