In Narayan Rao Colony near Sriramapura in Bengaluru, Karnataka, a 30-year-old woman was subjected to physical violence when she advised a group of 10 people not to squander water they had collected from a public tap.  According to the victim Bhanupriya, the assault took place on October 25 by her neighbours. As reported by The Times Of India, at approximately 4:30 pm, she observed her neighbours recklessly using water obtained from the public tap in their west Bengaluru colony. She advised three women, namely Anu, Priyadarshini, and Shalini, against this behaviour.

In response, they verbally abused her and questioned her authority to offer advice. Bhanupriya reported that when these women attacked her, some passersby intervened to defuse the situation.

However, the situation did not end there. Around 9:30 pm, when she was alone at home, a group comprising 10 men and women summoned her outside her house and subjected her to further physical assault. The men struck her in the face, shoved her onto the road, and repeatedly kicked her in the abdomen. Later, one of the attackers even assaulted her with a cricket bat.

A senior police officer has stated that a case has been filed, and they have apprehended several individuals suspected of involvement.

Not The First Story

Earlier in March this year, a group of six individuals fatally assaulted a 65-year-old woman as she attempted to prevent them from applying colours to her son in Amor Nima village, located under the jurisdiction of the Balbadda police station in Godda.
