According to the reports, the top post in the finance department in BMRCL had been vacant for nearly 20 months. In such a scenario, Kotnis’ appointment came as a virtue.

So far BMRCL Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola, was holding additional charge of the role following the retirement of the previous incumbent Naveen Kumar in February 2016. He is now relieved to have passed on the chair to Kotnis.

Deepa will also don the hat of one of the Directors on the BMRCL Board. Under her, there will be three General Managers in the finance department who will report to her.
