Does the mere sight of a beach recharge your jaded batteries? Are you one of those who wants to relocate to a place closer to the sea?
SheThePeople.Tv spoke to young women to know about their rendezvous with the sea-side and how it makes them feel.
Full of lessons
“My first-ever experience at the beach was a mix of emotions. The tides of the ocean and the roar of the waves give you a feeling of strength. Actually, one can learn a lot of things when you’re at the beach, you learn how to detach yourself from everything and stay your true self the way the ocean leaves everything at the seashore and waves back,” says Gurugram resident Karishma Verma, working as an air-hostess.
She added, “Sitting there, I realised the power of nature, how one can actually find the sounds of wind and the sea so soothing, it’s sheer beauty to enjoy the mesmerizing view of a setting sun into the ocean. The beach takes you another time zone, where you just sit and admire the nature and the moment you walk away you feel so rejuvenated and positive.”
“Beach makes me feel blissful. It has that vibe which will makes you sit there and just feel the water, hear the noise of water. It is also fun to play in it and enjoy the splashes of water. It forces me to think about how endless and deep it is. The feeling of seeing something without any boundaries is indescribable,” shares Ishita Chikkara, an alumna of Delhi University.
“One can learn a lot of things when you’re at the beach, you learn how to detach yourself from everything and stay your true self the way the ocean leaves everything at the seashore and waves back.”
Makes you forget bad things in life
Kriti Jain, a resident of Rohini and working as a content writer, says, “Visiting a beach makes me forget all the atrocities of life. It takes me to a new world altogether. Looking at those waves coming towards me and then going back brings to light so many deep thoughts. Things and situations aren’t stagnant in life, everything is going to change their places now or then — happiness, sadness, doubts, difficulties, challenges, opportunities, and much more.”
“The silence of the waves and the sound of waves coming and going away makes me look through the infinite possibilities of my life.”
Reflects your mood
Rashi Geol, studying in Madras University, Chennai shares, “Sometimes, I feel it reflects my mood. When I am happy, beach seems to make me happier. I come up with all the positive metaphors that it can be related to. Whereas when I am in a melancholic mood, beach reminds me of how transient everything is.”
Wakes up the child in me
Anchal Goswami, a Ghaziabad resident currently working as an intern with Delhi Women Commission, says, “The feeling I get when I’m on a beach can’t be compared with anything else in this world. The waves and the breeze feed my hungry soul. My chaotic thoughts turn into beautiful poetry when I sit and stare at the beauty of sunset. We all have that little child inside us sleeping. Beach wakes up the child in me to make castles in the sand. Sometimes, I cry and other times I just sit silently to hear the stories of waves crashing the stones. I feel that my mind is empty and my soul is filled up with positivity.”
A great stress-buster
Abhidha Sharma, working as a freelance photographer in Mumbai, says,”Beach is the best stress-buster for me in Mumbai. The silence of the waves and the sound of waves coming and going away makes me look through the infinite possibilities of my life. And it tells me to try harder every day just as the waves keep on trying to come as far as possible.”
