New Update
Visa

Women from Bangladesh wanting to visit India are now free to get a visa without the hassles of taking an appointment and circling the visa department over and over again. The Indian High Commission of Bangladesh has eased norms for women to apply for visa without any prior appointment.

Initially, the High Commission conducted a two-week trial. When the effort succeeded, it was made a permanent feature.

“This is a goodwill gesture extended to women and their family members to facilitate ease of securing Indian visas and to strengthen people-to-people contacts between India and Bangladesh,” the High Commission said in a statement, as reported by a Bangladesh news website BDnews24.

This scheme also enables women to submit tourist visa applications on behalf of their immediate family members who are accompanying them to India.

To enjoy the no-appointment clause to get a visa, women applicants and their family members must have their air, rail or bus tickets from authorised operators in India or Bangladesh confirmed before applying for a visa.

It is always a problem during holiday season to get visa quickly without any prior appointment, so the Indian High Commission has really helped Indian people living in Bangladesh and those who have been wanting to visit India as tourists from Bangladesh.
