Ramaswami's Bid for Georgia's 48th District

Setting his sights on the Democratic ticket, Ramaswami is competing for the State Senate seat in Georgia's 48th district. This area encompasses Johns Creek, Suwanee, Alpharetta, Cumming, Sugar Hill, and Buford. The current position holder, Republican Shawn Still, faces legal challenges related to allegations of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results, creating an opening for Ramaswami.

Articulating his vision for Georgia, Ramaswami highlights key issues he aims to address if elected. Education, job opportunities, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and public safety are at the forefront of his agenda. With a focus on preventing incidents like school shootings, he aspires to ensure the well-being and prosperity of his constituents.

Born to parents who immigrated to the US from Tamil Nadu in 1990, Ramaswami's journey reflects the quintessential American dream. A 2021 graduate of Stanford with a degree in computer science, he proudly identifies as a Hindu and holds a profound interest in Indian culture and philosophy, particularly epics like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavad Gita.

At 24, Ramaswami acknowledges the significance of bridging the generational gap in his campaign. While resonating with his peers, he emphasizes the importance of connecting with older generations who possess the resources necessary for success. For him, integrity and competence are paramount, transcending age-related challenges.

Ramaswami's Background and Expertise

Ramaswami's unique blend of degrees in computer science and law sets him apart. A native of Georgia, he has collaborated with organizations, startups, and small enterprises to utilize technology for public benefit. His experience includes working on election security at the federal level, contributing to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and serving as a legal fellow for the Georgia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

If successful, Ramaswami would make history as Georgia's first  Generation Z State Senator and the first Indian American to serve in the Georgia State Legislature. His journey symbolizes a paradigm shift in American politics, emphasizing the importance of diverse voices and a commitment to public service.
