According to reports, the professor was allegedly teaching about rape in India in his class and its historical and mythological reference. The professor in his class on the subject showed slides about the “story of Brahma raping his daughter”, Indra’s impersonation of Rishi Gautam, and raping his wife and many other references from predominantly Hindu mythology.

Many students, reportedly, took to social media platforms to condemn the content of the lecture. Post the uproar, the AMU administration and faculty of medicine issued an official statement where they mention that they “strongly condemned” the content of the presentation and issued a show-cause notice to the concerned faculty.

Claiming that the slide has hurt the religious sentiments of students, staff and citizens, the professor was given a time frame of 24 hours to submit a reply.

POV: Slide from a class in Aligarh Muslim University.” Many replied to her tweet expressing outrage about the content in the slide.
