Assam Polls: Shah Promises Scooties For Women,"Love And Land Jihad" Laws Also On Agenda

Since the campaigning for the Assam state assembly polls started, Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been paying visits in the state. The elections will start on March 27 and will go on till April 6

Amit Shah Assam Rally: Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India while addressing the masses in a rally for Assam elections said that his party would give free-of-cost scooties to every women college student in the state. He said that among other things, the BJP will also bring in laws to stop 'land and love jihad'.

Shah was speaking at an election rally in the Kamrup district of Assam where he said, "The BJP's manifesto has several items. But the biggest among them is that the BJP government will work towards bringing in laws against love and land jihad."

The Bharatiya Janta Party's manifesto for the Assam polls also mentions the party's future policies on the crackdown of organisations and individuals spreading communal separatism and exclusion in the state.

Amit Shah while speaking during the rally claimed that BJP has made Assam terrorism-free and agitation-free. He promised to bring in more job opportunities for the people by turning the state into a job hub. He further talked about making Assam flood-free. Apart from all that, Shah said that his party is going to make two lakh government schools and will generate eight lakh private job before 2022 in addition to building B.Ed colleges in every block.

Amit Shah further promised, "Post class VIII, every girl child will be given bicycles. Every college female student will be given 'scooty' free-of-cost for women empowerment." He added that his party will spend over ₹ 2.5 lakh to redevelop each religious congregations named Namgarhs in the state.

According to the Union Minister, in BJP's rule in Assam, more than 2,000 organisations fighting against the government have given up their arms.
