Amelia Anisovych Who Went Viral For Singing From Kyiv Bomb Shelter, Performed In Poland

Amelia Anisovych, earlier went viral for singing a hit Disney song from a bomb shelter, performed at "Together With Ukraine" concert in Poland.

The seven-year-old little girl who went viral on social media for singing in an underground bomb shelter in the war-torn country of Ukraine sang at a charity concert in Poland on March 21. Amelia Anisovych’s video in which she sang animated film Frozen’s song Let It Go left people teary-eyed. She was seen amid a group of family members and neighbours hiding at a shelter in Kyiv. Weeks after the poignant video went viral, she sang Ukraine’s national anthem at Poland’s Atlas Arena in Lodz for a benefit concert “Together With Ukraine”.

The little girl, donning Ukraine’s traditional clothes, sang the national anthem in acapella. The audience gave a huge round of applause for her mesmerizing performance.

Reportedly, the “Together With Ukraine” event raised more than 380,000 dollars to support Polish Humanitarian Action (PHA) which is providing aid to people because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was also reported that Amelia is currently in Poland with her grandmother and brother while her parents are still in Kyiv.

Sharing a video of little Amelia singing at the concert, a Twitter user wrote, “The little girl who sang to family and friends in a Ukraine bomb shelter several weeks ago, now sings before 1000s attending a charity concert in Poland. Awe-inspiring! Glory to Ukraine!”

Many Twitter users have come forth and expressed glee that she was safe and wished that she reunites with her parents soon. One user said, “Have been waiting to hear if she got out of the bomb shelter safely. This is incredible! So happy for this news.” While another noted, “What a brave little girl. After the violent upheaval of her life and home, she has the courage to stand in front of a large crowd and sing. Just a tiny little angel pouring her heart and soul into the Ukrainian anthem. I couldn't be prouder of her if she was my own child.”

Little Amelia was also hailed as a “beacon of hope”. Romanian MEP Vlad Gheorghe sharing her video wrote, “This little girl is all the light in Ukraine fighting the darkness of death brought on by Putin's bombs. And light is always stronger.”

Since the recent Russo-Ukraine war broke out in February, ten million people were forced to leave the war-torn country and seek refuge in neighbouring EU nations. According to UNICEF, the UN children’s agency, more than 1.5 million are among those who fled abroad.
