As per the reports, the wife wanted to wear sarees of her own choice and not the ones that her husband selected. This difference in opinion led to daily disputes between the couple.

Attempts to save the marriage failed

The disputes escalated to the extent that the couple landed at the family counselling centre where the counsellors tried to find out a solution to their marital dispute.

However, the counsellor's efforts went in vain as the couple was not able to resolve the issues. Ultimately, the husband and wife approached the police and said that they wanted to dissolve the marriage.

The family members of the couple tried a lot to save their marriage. They have been trying to convince the couple to live together. But the dispute over the saree has escalated a bit too much.

The matter is up for hearing this month.

A parallel incident

In January, a woman sought divorce from her husband because her mother-in-law was using her make-up without her permission. The woman who lives in Agra's Malpura alleged that her husband took the side of her mother-in-law and threw her and her sister out of the house after an altercation.

the woman and her sister married two brothers eight months ago. Everything was going well until the woman found out that her mother-in-law was using her make-up secretly.

She filed a complaint at Parivar Paramarsh Kendra’ (Family Counselling Centre) of Agra Police and alleged that her mother-in-law would wear her make-up products even while staying inside the house. She further said that whenever she had to use the make-up to go to an event or something, she would not have the make-up products as they were already used by her mother-in-law.

When the woman tried to confront her mother-in-law and stop her from wearing make-up inside the home, the two had a verbal fight. Later on, the other-in-law told about this to the woman's husband who also fought with the woman. After an escalated argument, the husband threw the woman and her sister out of their matrimonial home. She also approached the Malpura police station to register her complaint.
