Actor Shalu Chourasiya was mugged and her mobile was snatched near the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (KBR) national park in the Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad recently. The actor has sustained injuries on her head and near her eyes. The police have registered a case and the investigation is on.

According to the police report filed by the actor Shalu Chourasiya, she was taking a stroll around 8:30 pm when the accused approached her and asked her to hand over her money and other valuables. After the actor resisted this, he reportedly punched her and threw a rock at her. Then snatched the actor's mobile phone and ran away.
The actor was taken to a private hospital to treat the injuries on the head and near her eye. According to a news report by The Hindu, the incident came to light on November 15. Shalu Chourasiya is a model turned actor who made her debut in 2015 with a film called Sailu. She was also part of a Telugu drama called O Pilla Nee Valla in 2017.
The Banjara Hills Police are scanning footage from all the CCTVs in the areas to identify the accused. Mohammed Hafiz, who is the Detective Inspector at Banjara Hills police station told that the incident took place around 8:30 at night and according to the complaint, the man snatched the phone and escaped.
A case has been registered under Section 392 of the Indian Penal Code which deals with robbery. "CCTV cameras inside KBR weren't functioning and that has become and an issue in the investigation," Hafiz said.
According to news reports, the assailant is reportedly between the 20-25 years and the police is trying to figure out the identity by checking CCTVs and trying to locate the phone through IMEI or the tower location.
This is not the first case of mugging that has taken place in the park. In 2014, Banjara Hill police had registered multiple theft cases which included laptops, mobile phones and purses snatching from the park and its parking spot.

According to news reports, a man had opened fire with an AK-47 at K Nityananda Reddy, the Executive of Aurobindo Pharma. Reddy escaped as he was sitting inside his car and later police arrested a former policeman, who confessed to stealing the rifle and the incident.
