Cricket is originally an English game and it’s not surprising that the youngest, most successful all-rounder female cricket player is from England. Natalie (Nat) Sciver, 22, a cricketer who was born in Tokyo, played football in a Polish youth league and is one of the best female cricketers in the world today. Sciver is considered a powerful striker, and took a hat-trick in a Twenty20 international against New Zealand.

Having made her England debut just 18 months ago, Sciver has been doing extremely well for herself. Apart from cricket and football,  Sciver plays golf and tennis as well. After trying her hand at the other sports, she joined cricket for good at the age of 14. Sciver was inspired by her father who used to play the sport.

During a training session in Loughborough, she told Daily Mail, “I’d like to think I’m the biggest hitter around… We’ve put quite a bit of emphasis on powerful striking, not necessarily hitting sixes, but everyone has been working hard on the technique of that. It’s one of my strengths which I want to use in a game more often.”

About playing cricket she said, “When I played tennis I couldn’t keep the ball in the court but luckily there are no restrictions in cricket. I guess I’m naturally strong.” The team’s collective performance has been weak in the past, Sciver, however thinks that it is getting better. She said, “The game is moving forward so quickly that this was always something we’d need to work on. You can’t stand still… Women’s cricket is getting more and more competitive and we have to keep up:” according to the Daily Mail report.

Sciver currently shares a house with four other England cricketers in Loughborough and is one of the brightest young cricketers to look out for.
