Kerala woman sold her goats to donate money to the CDMRF and COVID-19 vaccine challenge funds that aim at free vaccination of people. After making headlines for her generous act, she won a VVIP pass for the Left Democratic Front (LDF)'s swearing-in ceremony.

Subaida, a local resident of Kollam city, Kerala, runs a tea stall and rears goats for a living. Despite hardships and her own financial needs, she decided to donate the amount she received after selling her only four goats.

The 61-year-old woman sold her 20 goats last year and donated money to the CDMRF. Back then, she was acknowledged for her deeds. However, this year, she won the spotlight after being awarded access to the swearing-in ceremony for Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's cabinet.

After contributing to the fight against the COVID-19 virus outbreak for two consecutive years, Subaida received a phone call from her local councillor on May 17, Monday. The collector asked her to get prepared for the new government's swearing-in ceremony on May 20. A vehicle was reportedly sent to her doors in order to take her to Thiruvananthapuram on the required date.

Subaida, who got elated after receiving the VVIP pass, said, "On Tuesday, I received an envelope with a VVIP pass inside it inviting me to attend the CM’s swearing-in function. It came as a huge surprise for me as I was never expecting any such invitation."

The woman who contributed a part of her earning to the cause of donating money to distribute rice and other essentials to poor families and make vaccination free of cost is a mother of three.

Her husband, as well as her brother, are patients of heart concerns and her husband underwent surgery last year. All of her three married children are daily wage earners.
