Jaipur doctor dies in Himachal landslide: A photo of a woman, who is an ayurvedic doctor from Rajasthan's capital of Jaipur, is doing rounds on social media since she tragically died following multiple landslides in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district on Sunday. The doctor, identified as Dr Deepa Sharma, tweeted her picture minutes before the tragedy occurred and her vehicle was hit by falling rocks due to a massive landslide in the hill area. She was among the nine tourists who died during the accident on Sunday.
Sharma's last tweet was about standing at the last point of India where civilians were allowed. "Beyond this point around 80 kms ahead we have border with Tibet whom china has occupied illegally," the 34-year-old tweeted posing at Nagasti ITBP check-post.

The ayurvedic doctor hailed from Jaipur and was vacationing in the hill state to celebrate her 38th birthday, as per a report by Hindustan Times. Her Twitter feed is also filled with pictures from her visit to the hill station. "Life is nothing without mother nature," read another one of her recent posts, in which she can be seen posing near a bridge. According to multiple reports, the landslides occurred near Basteri on Sangla-Chitkul road at 1.25 pm, just minutes after Sharma uploaded the travel photo at 12:59 pm on July 25. These sudden landslides resulted in a bridge collapse and damage to some vehicles, due to which nine tourists were killed. Three are injured and currently under observation.

Her brother, Mahesh Kumar Sharma, took to his Twitter account to express grief about her death. He said his sister went for the Spiti tour on her upcoming 38th birthday on 29 July. "She was very happy for this planned trip. She purchased new professional camera and new smartphone for it. She love nature and now my sister die in the lap of nature.may her soul rest in peace (sic)," he posted about the doctor's love for nature.

Several users on Twitter expressed shock and condoled the death of the young doctor. National Award Winning filmmaker, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote, "I have been told that she died in a landslide today. Till 8 hrs ago she was sending photos from Himalayas. Such a lively, aware person. Have no words. May God give her family strength. Prayers (sic)."

One user Deepa Sharma was "a beautiful soul" and life could be so fragile. "We haven’t interacted much dr Deepa but I hope it’s not true," wrote another saying that she was always vocal and strong about her opinions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an aid of 2 lakh rupees each for the families of those who have died in the accident. The injured persons will receive get Rs. 50,000 from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. President Ram Nath Kovind also expressed condolences over the death of people.
