According to a report, the two women, who work as bouncers in an event management firm in Gurgaon, had finished night-shift and taken a taxi on their way back home at Dakshinpuri in Delhi. Since they hired a share cab, another man sitting in the vehicle apart from the driver in the front seat did not bother them that much.

On the way, when they asked the driver the reason for driving so slowly, he said he was looking for more passengers. But after some time, the driver stopped the car in an isolated spot near the Rapid Metro station in Sikanderpur and his friend allegedly touched one of the women. When her friend protested, he reportedly slapped her. Seeing a gun in his hand, the scared women handed over their salaries to them while he started assaulting them sexually.

However, one of the women tried to halt the car, which then hit the divider. The two women managed to get out of the car and get help from the passersby. While the driver fled, the crowd caught hold of his friend.
