Who was Gabriel Salazar: Famous on video-sharing platform TikTok by his username GabeNotBabe, rising star Gabriel Salazar reportedly passed away in a car crash in San Antonio, Texas. Though media is awaiting solid confirmation on his passing from law enforcement agencies, the 19-year-old’s friends, family and TikTok peers are paying tributes to him on social media.
With over a million followers on TikTok, he was a popular lip-sync creator with an expanding fan base. His death is being marked as a big loss for the young influencer forum online. Other TikTokers who died this year.
Salazar’s sister Danna on her Instagram profile shared a set of his old pictures, writing, “I love you so much Gabriel. you were so perfect. I will never forget you, take care of us from heaven my beautiful child. always in my heart.”
She marked the date of his death as September 26.

A GoFundMe page created by Salazar’s friend and fundraising for his funeral mentions his vehicle accident but does not divulge further details citing it is hard for them to talk about the pain. “He was always there with a big hug and smile, and his family will never forget those warm moments,” writes Chris Vazquez, the organiser.
Salazar’s sibling has shared the GoFundMe page on her social media too.
As of Tuesday evening, the page has raised $30,552, over and above its target $25,000 goal.
Meanwhile, as per The New York Post which spoke to police in San Antonio, officials said they “found no one by that name [Salazar] involved in any crashes from this weekend.”
TikToker Ricky Flores, who often collaborated with Salazar and was friends with him, posted a tribute for his “brother… best friend… other half” on the video app, sharing old clips of the two together.
