Assk First: Sexual Assault Survivor Launches 'Consent-Themed' Lingerie Line

Assk First: Sexual assault survivor and SafeBae co-founder Ella Fairon launched a consent-themed lingerie line called 'Assk First'. "Talking about consent is cool. Getting consent is cool. Everyone should be aware of it," said Fairon.

The underwear features her hand-made designs along with some quirky phrases such as "Ask the cutie before touching the booty," and "Cool cats get consent".

The lingerie line was started in December last year

Fairon had started with this lingerie line a few months after the death of her friend Daisy "Cat" Coleman. She was a sexual assault survivor and activist who killed herself in August last year. Coleman was also featured in the 2016 Netflix documentary "Audrie and Daisy". "This collection is very special to my heart, as it embodies Daisy's spirit and style, and I know she would love it," wrote Fairon on Kickstarter.

Assk First is currently engaged in fundraising on Kickstarter will be releasing three collections: Classic Consent Collection, Consent Cat Collection, and the Consent Cat Collection in a bikini cut.

The pre-orders for the collection started from February 6, and will soon be shipped out between March and April. The proceeds from the sale will go to the SafeBAE (Safe Before Anyone Else) which is a youth-led organisation devoted to spreading awareness about sexual assault in various schools. This organisation was founded by sexual assault survivors which include Ella Fairon, Daisy Coleman, her brother Charlie Coleman, and Jada Smith.
