Stateswoman Sheila Kaul was among India's most prolific female politicians with five stints in the Parliament. An activist in pre-Independence India, she was part of the freedom struggle and later received accolades as a cabinet minister and later a governor during her career phases. Kaul, who died at age of 100 on Sunday was a chest of some of India's most cherished political memories as well as witness to its most challenging times. Indira Gandhi's aunt may not have been as powerful as her but in her own persistent ways, she made headlines for her efforts, and impact with her work.
