Dr Mickey Mehta is an Indian holistic health, well-being, wellness, and fitness guru. He was there at the Women Writers Fest in Hyderabad to share some important tips around health, physical and mental well being and transforming ourselves to become our best version. Here are some of the important things he said:
On his writing
I write a lot of sense and non-sense. The non sense part is the philosophy that people don’t understand.
On assessing ourselves
We look at ourselves but we don’t assess and evaluate. We have to reimagine ourselves and then work on that.
When you start eating loads of fruits, veggies, wholesome grains, magic will happen. Gradually, they will shift a paradigm and then you will only move to something that will make your body feel better and lighter and give you joy – Dr Mickey Mehta
On being our best selves
If you are 40 today, you can be like 18 or 20 within a period of one year.
On the power of genes
Don’t blame your health on your genes because that’s a very old school thought. Science of genes has changed. It says that you can change your gene expression. You can be the master of your biology. You can transform completely to whichever condition you are in to whichever condition you want to be in.
We all are so beautiful but it doesn’t harm to look more beautiful. Small efforts can make you more beautiful. Feel these thoughts in you and your body will begin to behave.
On possessing an unbridled spirit
If your body fail, your mind takes over. If your mind fails, spirit takes over. Never allow your spirit to fail. Consciousness prevails over instincts.

On human mind
There will be distractions, there will be attractions but the human mind has to resolve and transcend over earthly weak feelings – insignificant and irrelevant attachments. When you transcend that, your body transforms better.
On the need to have a plant based diet
Plant based diet is healing diet. When you start eating loads of fruits, veggies, wholesome grains, magic will happen. Gradually, they will shift a paradigm and then you will only move to something that will make your body feel better and lighter and give you joy. For instance, cake brings happiness but mango gives you joy.
Movement is important. Productive movement is more important. Any movement is not important.
On having our last meal
Eat your last meal by sunset so that your meal is almost digested by the time you sleep. Toxins get managed very well.
On the right way to sleep
Go to sleep like a spirit. Bodyless, genderless, titleless, relationsless. You will get a sound sleep and you will be healed.
