Female characters on Indian television are predominantly assigned selfless loving roles, such as that of a mother, wife, or sister. Their sole purpose is to ensure the happiness and well-being of their loved ones, often neglecting their own needs in the process.

Breaking this stereotype is Pushpa from Sony SAB’s popular show Pushpa Impossible, magnificently brought to life by the versatile Karuna Pandey.

The show has undeniably transformed the portrayal of women in society, presenting a character who confronts hurdles, defies traditional norms, and fearlessly embraces life. What sets Pushpa apart is her unwavering optimism and the enthusiasm with which she lives her life, unapologetically. She not only supports her son Chirag in his pursuit of food delivery but also ensures that she is there for her daughter-in-law Dipti as she faces an emotional upheaval in her marriage with Ashwin.  This demonstrates how Pushpa emphasizes open communication, respect, and mutual understanding with her children.
