Nutritionist Chahat Vasdev says protein is a fundamental building block for your body. "It helps to construct, repair, and maintain the tissues in your body, including skin, hair, and nails. This nutrient is involved in multiple biological processes, which would not occur efficiently without an adequate protein intake."

The medical director at Gytree, Dr Sudeshna Ray also explains, "Protein is a lot more than a gym supplement. It's a vital nutrient necessary for the overall optimal functioning of your body."

Consuming the right amount of protein also supports hormone balance. Many hormones, such as insulin and various growth hormones, are made of amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. Thus, sufficient protein intake affects the regulation of these hormones, ultimately impacting metabolic rate and body weight regulation.

Gytree's protein contains ashwagandha and shatavari to balance hormones making it a favourite among women.

"I have had a 2X jump in energy levels since I started using this Cafe Mocha protein," says Mumbai based Smita Rajan who is a dance movement therapist. You can watch her video here

Aids digestion: Protein is necessary for maintaining gut health and improving digestion. It helps sustain the lining of your gut, keeping your digestive system functioning smoothly.

Boosts immunity: Many antibodies that help fight disease are actually proteins. Thus, a consistent protein intake can strengthen your immune system.

Promotes healthy brain function: Amino acids derived from proteins serve as neurotransmitters, which facilitate communication among brain cells. This can help maintain good mental health and cognitive functions.

It's time we debunk the myth that protein is exclusively for those who hit the gym regularly. The truth is, protein holds immense benefits for everyone, especially women, and needs to be an indispensable part of our daily nutrition.
