G20 Negotiations To End The Russia-Ukraine War
Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy like many others attending G20, is of the mind that India uses G20 negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war. India's Presidency in the G20 this year puts the nation in a tough diplomatic spot. India has well-standing relations with both the western nations and Russia. However, both parties have different goals.

India has stressed the significance of diplomatic dialogue to cease the war. Russia is one of the G20 nations in attendance and the war has been on every nation's news channels. What remains to be seen at the New Delhi Summit is if a conclusive resolution to cease war hostilities finds its way into the Leader's Declaration.

India's Presidency and G20 Negotiations To End The Russia-Ukraine War Hopes Meloni

Giorgia Meloni visits India with hope as India plays host to the ministries of G20 nations.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine will be prioritised as a topic of discussion in this G20. There is much speculation about India being able to protect both its security alliance with western nations and its oil and defence relations with Russia as it attempts to broker peace.

Meloni conveyed that India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is well aware of Italy's stance to offer its complete support to Ukraine's territorial harmony.

She conveyed her hope for India's Presidency to bring about a cessation of firing followed by an olive branch.

MEA Jaishankar made the world aware of India's stance on the war last year at the GLOBSEC Union. India's PM conveyed to Putin last year that this was not a time for war. Purportedly Moscow might have taken offence to it.

Modi reiterated India's stance on peace negotiations at a press conference on Thursday and promised India's full support to that extent. Only diplomacy and dialogue could end this war.

The meeting of Italian and Indian leaders has led to defence cooperation built on strategic partnership. Joint military exercises will be observed between both nations to the benefit of the partnership.

Modi conveyed India's sentiment of looking forward to active participation by Italy to strengthen the Indo-Pacific security and toward exploring renewable energy sources.
