Will Yellowstone Prequel 1883 Plot Continue With New Episodes?

1883 plot is expected to continue with additional new episodes. However, the show's executive producer David Glasser remarked that there will be no second season for 1883 yet the makers intend to carry forward the 1883 plot with more episodes. Will Yellowstone prequel 1932 be presented as the second season as an anthological series? It's hard to say what these additional episodes might include yet.

Yellowstone prequel 1883 amassed huge popularity since it debuted on Paramount+ and Paramount Network back in 2021. The show recently completed its 10-episode long run and has been received quite positively by the audience. 1883 premises follows the story of the ancestors of the Dutton family as to how they moved across the country to settle in Montana Valley and established their ranch. The show stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliot, Isabel May, Audie Rick among others.

1883 season finale ended an emotional ride along with the deaths of many prominent characters including Elsa Dutton (Isabel May) and Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott). Writer-creator Taylor Sheridan told Deadline that the show was always intended to be a 10-part series saying, "For me, as a storyteller it feels close ended. I’m going to peek through the window of a different era and see what I see then." Reports suggest that the "different era" is supposedly refers to the other Yellowstone prequel 1932, which is set in the era of the Great Depression and Prohibition, with events following another generation of the Dutton family.

Additional New Episodes in Yellowstone prequel 1883 Plot

While the creators have promised additional episodes to further continue the 1883 plot, it is hard to say what these episodes might present. Actor Tim McGraw told Variety, "We just don’t know. We’re sort of in limbo like everyone else." He further added, "We’re excited about what’s to come and excited about what writes and can’t wait to see however it develops."

Executive Producer David Glasser also mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter that 1932 was always intended to be the second season. He pointed that the 1883 new episodes are "something really additional." Speaking to Insider, he said, "If you're a fan of the Dutton family and the saga bringing you to the current day , what will come is that continued saga."

There is no official release date or premises of the additional new episodes of 1883 as of yet.
