The series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein will return with a second season, the streaming platform announced recently. It has been just three weeks since the show aired.
The eight-episode series directed by Sidharth Sengupta, borrows its title from a song in the hit 1993 film Baazigar which starred Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol. The romantic crime thriller stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi Sharma and Anchal Singh and started airing on Netflix on January 14. The series also stars actors Saurabh Shukla, Brijendra Kala and Anant Joshi.

According to the streaming platform, the series ranked #6 in the global Top 10 for TV. Furthermore, it has been in the Top 10 row in 11 countries including Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, and more apart from being consistently featured on the Top 10 row in India.

The show is the story of Vikrant essayed by Tahir Raj Bhasin. He is a simpleton who aspires a job at the Bhilai Steel Plant, however becomes Purva’s object of desire. Purva is the daughter of a politician and can go to any length to obtain anything she wants. Vikrant discovers a new side to himself as Purva’s merciless efforts to make him hers begin to damage all he holds dear. In order to free himself from and restore his life with Shikha, he embarks on a journey that he starts regretting. The season one ends on a cliffhanger thus leaving its audience in wanting to know more.
Anchal Singh leads the show with a powerful character that audiences don’t see much of on-screen. As Purva, she plays a ruthless politician’s daughter, who is on a passionate pursuit of a small-town boy whose romantic interests lie elsewhere. She doesn’t flinch at striking down every virtue in her way, her eyes set on a one-stop goal: to get the boy she wants. In a candid interview with SheThePeople Singh said “She proudly wears her fantasies and desires on her sleeve. She’s very daring that way… very goal-oriented.”
The release date of season 2 of the show has not been announced yet.
