True Detective Season 4 Release Date: When Is The New Season Coming?

True Detective Season 4 Release Date: True Detective is in the works for the development of its new season with HBO, as per reports. Issa Lopez and Barry Jenkins have been roped in as the executive producers for the fourth season along with Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak. The new season will possibly be titled True Detective: Night Country.

True Detective is a crime-drama series in which various police officers and detectives are compelled to come to terms with their darkest secrets in order to solve and investigate crimes around America.

It is expected that True Detective Season 4 will take place in the Arctic where night can possibly last for more than 24 hours. According to sources, the new season will also include two new female leads in the cast. Issa Lopez will serve as the writer, executive producer as well as director of the pilot episode. Barry Jenkins' Pastel and Anonymous Content, which was the producer of the previous seasons as well, will also join the producing team along with others.

True Detective amassed critical reception for its first season which also won five Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film.

While the first and third seasons were great hits with the audience as well as the critics, the second season was not well-received as it could not match up to the expectations created by the previous season.

The first season of True Detective came out in 2014 and included Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as the main lead. A year later, True Detective Season 2 premiered in 2015, featuring Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn. True Detective Season 3 came out in 2019 with Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali. The cast for Season 4 has not been confirmed as of yet.
