The new image is a confirmation that the future Marvel film is linked to Moon Knight and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Fans quickly speculated that this could be Bast, the Egyptian god who appears in Moon Knight and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Bast is a member of the Ennead, a pantheon of Egyptian gods introduced in the Disney live-action series Moon Knight.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) decides that his days are done and looks to begin a new chapter of self-discovery in the fourth instalment of the Thor franchise.

In July 2019, Hemsworth, and Tessa Thompson, as well as Natalie Portman, who did not appear in Ragnarok, were confirmed to return for Love and Thunder. The director, Taika Waititi intended to set Love and Thunder apart from Ragnarok by making a love story and an adventure set in the 1980s. He took inspiration from Jason Aaron's run on The Mighty Thor comic book, in which Foster takes on Thor's mantle and powers while battling cancer.

On April 18, Marvel Studios unveiled the first teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, giving us a sneak peek at what's to come. The trailer's final shot shows Natalie Portmann's Jane Foster carrying Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, leaving fans wondering how big of a role she'll play in saving the universe and whether she'll ever take over as Thor.

At first in the film, Valkyrie (Thompson), Korg (Waititi), and Jane Foster (Portman), who is now the Mighty Thor attempt to achieve inner peace, but must return to action to stop Gorr the God Butcher (Bale) from annihilating all gods. On July 8, Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in theatres all across the world.
