Rajkummar Rao And Alaya F Starrer 'Sri' Shoot Begins!

Sri is an upcoming biopic of Indian industrialist Srikanth Bholla starring Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F in pivotal roles. The movie began its production on Sunday and the makers announced this by sharing pictures from the shoot.

T-Series announced the beginning of the schedule for its upcoming biopic on visually impaired Indian industrialist Srikanth Bholla. The pictures from the first day of the shoot were shared on T-Series's official Instagram account in which the cast of the movie, Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F, was seen posing along with the industrialist Srikanth Bholla and the director of the film Tushar Hiranandani. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandini under the label of T-Series and Chalk N Cheese Films Production Llp. The movie also stars South actors Jyothika and Sharad Kelkar in important roles.

Srikanth Bholla Biopic Sri Shoot Begins

The movie is based on the life of industrialist Srikanth Bholla who was born in Andhra Pradesh's Machilipatnam to farmer parents. He was visually impaired by birth but that didn't stop him from pursuing what he wanted. He fought with the authorities to admit him in the science stream in class 12th and ended up scoring 98% in exams. When engineering coaching institutes denied him admission, he joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and became the first blind international student there.

Bholla had been a youth icon for a long time and has worked to provide working and education opportunities to people with disabilities. He set up Bollant Industries in 2012 which aims at providing employment opportunities to people with disabilities and received funding from Ratan Tata. The biopic will show his journey from an ordinary blind boy to a youth icon.

On the work front, Rajkummar Rao was recently seen in the crime thriller Monica O My Darling alongside Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte. Rao also had Janhvi Kapoor starrer Mr And Mrs Mahi scheduled which will be a sports drama. Alaya F will soon be seen in Kartik Aaryan starrer Freddy whose promotions are ongoing. Her movie Almost Love With DJ Mohabbat alongside Karan Mehta recently premiered at Marrakech International Film Festival and will be released in India in 2023.
