Bengali television actor Sreemoyee Chattoraj, amid the controversy, has taken to social media on Monday to post a video hitting back at the trolls.
Recently, Chattoraj was linked to Bengali actor-turned-politician Kanchan Mallick, however, both dismissed the allegations.
Addressing the rumours, the actor claimed on social media that she might play a negative character on TV, but that doesn’t make her a “negative person in real life”.
“People who know me well will vouch for it,” she said in the video and refuted the trolls by saying that she’s not a ‘homewrecker’.
“Truth will come out. I do not intend to get into a relationship with a married man,” she further said.
The actor also went on to claim that she sees actor Kanchan as “her brother or industry senior”.
“Why am I being used because some other people cannot handle their fragile marriage?,” Sreemoyee said.
Sreemoyee Chattoraj went on to point out that this incident puts mental pressure on her along with affecting her work.
“In fact, my relatively humble family is still in shock,” she said.
Kanchan's wife alleges Sreemoyee Chattoraj harassed her
The rumours emerged after Kanchan’s wife Pinky, who is also an actor, lodged a police complaint against her husband, reportedly, stating that her husband and Sreemoyee harassed her.
According to the statement, Pinky was allegedly forced to get down from her car while returning home. She further claimed that Sreemoyee allegedly verbally abused her too. Later, on Saturday night, she sought police help. Meanwhile, Kanchan and Sreemoyee denied all the allegations.
Previously, when rumours of a link-up between the two actors emerged, Pinky rubbished them and backed her husband.
