Shows For Parents To Watch: The Indian entertainment industry has been coming up with shows which have very realistic approach for their characterisations of various aspects of human life. While some discuss the struggles of student life, others deal with the complexities of human relationships in a subtle way. As the Indian media has provided a wide range of genres to choose from, we found some shows for parents to watch with you on your next family dinner.
Indian parents can be handful to deal with; Whether you are 15 or 25, apparently you remain a child for them at each age. And somehow, you can’t have fun for two consecutive days according to them. While they mean the best for us at heart, it can be difficult to understand some of their perceptions simply because those ideas haven’t aged well as per our open-minded generation.
What are some shows that you really want your parents to watch? We asked people and here are some recommendations of shows for parents to watch:
Made In Heaven
Because the show reveals the true facets of the big-fat Indian weddings that our parents are obsessed with. Long with that, it also deals with the realities of LGBTQ community by showing how difficult it is to gain acceptance in the Indian society.
Sex Education

Modern Family
American sitcom Modern Family is a delight to watch as three sets of parents deal with their kids, relationships and job in their own ways. And maybe follow some wholesome parenting advice from the show as well?
Little Things
Since Little Things is much more than just a couple dealing with their romantic issues, it also deals with parents’ expectations, watching them grow old and how adulting affects the family life in a very inclusive way.
13 Reasons Why
The show articulates the importance of mental health of adolescent kids. It focusses on the need of talking to the children about their struggles and making them feel secure about themselves despite all the odds they’ve been facing.
Anything but Anupamaa
Yeah, because Indian daily soaps are too dramatic and we already have enough drama to deal with in our lives. *Loud squeaky crying noises*
